FREE BREWING VIDEOS

Do your best and let science do the rest...

Welcome to the Free Brewing Videos web site! This place was created after we searched the web tirelessly, but were not able to find decent brewing videos, and definitely nothing good for free. While some of the free video services offer user uploaded videos, the majority are very short, leave out important details, or lack any true knowledge. What it comes down to is that we were not happy with the videos available. There are many business willing to sell a VHS or DVD video for $19.95, but I really did not want to pay for it. I realize it takes time and money to produce a product, but why can't something be good and free?

Enter Free Brewing Videos. In March of 2007, during a brew session, a future all grain brewer mentioned filming an upcoming brew day. The idea was kicked around, and within the month, we took a digital camera and made dozens of clips that would some day become what you see here.

These videos were shot by the two of us, homebrewing with experience and a strong love of brewing beer and passing on knowledge. You will not find professional, studio quality videos, as that was beyond our budget and not really the point here, but you will find plenty of knowledge and instructions to help you begin all grain brewing, whether you have never made beer, or want to climb the ranks. We also tried to keep the theme as basic as possible.

The videos have been broken down into the categories on the left. If you watch the extract or all grain videos from start to finish, you will have a much better understanding of all the steps involved to make beer. While we don't cover every aspect, such as how grains are malted, or chemical conversions, we provide enough detail so that even a completely inexperienced brewer, having nothing but grain and equipment, can make beer the first time around.

We recommend watching the videos a few times to fully grasp the terminology, concepts, formulas, and process of making beer. Even though much of the same information is repeated in multiple videos, there is extra information presented in some videos not available in others. You will also notice that in some videos, we use the same shot. In these videos, you will want to listen to the advice, because just watching the video is rather boring.

Feel free to use the message board or send us feedback with any questions, concerns, complaints, or praise. We like to know that our work has helped another brewer in their struggles to make a perfect beer!
